Mathare is home to over 500,000 residents living in one of Nairobi’s most densely populated informal settlements, Many families in Mathare survive on less than $2 a day, making it difficult to consistently afford food, school fees, safe childcare and increased exposure to unsafe environments. Without structured support, these challenges significantly limit their educational outcomes and future opportunities.

African Child Hope Foundation a non-profit organization responds to this urgent need by providing structured safe spaces, talent development programs, mentorship, and essential support for over 300 children in Mathare with plans to expand our programs and reach even more vulnerable children in the community.

What We Do

We focus on a few strong, measurable programs that build skills, safety and opportunity.

Nutrition & Health

We provide nutritious meals and essential support to help children stay healthy, focused, and physically strong, especially in communities facing food insecurity.

Education Support & Mentorship

We help children access education by supporting school fees, learning materials, and related needs, ensuring financial hardship does not block a child’s right to learn.

Child Protection & Safe Spaces

We create and support safe environments where children are protected from neglect, abuse, and harm, allowing them to grow with dignity, stability, and care.

Talent Development

Structured classes in film, music, dance, and visual art with performance/showcase pathways.

Through partnerships like Mathare Care Centre, we support children with autism and other developmental challenges by promoting inclusion, care, and understanding.

Community Outreach & Family Support

We engage directly with families and communities through outreach programs that strengthen parental support, awareness, and long-term resilience.

OUR MISSION

African Child Hope Foundation exists to protect, nurture, and empower vulnerable children in Mathare by providing structured safe spaces, talent development programs, mentorship, education support, and essential care enabling over 300 children to grow into confident and capable leaders of tomorrow.
